Waste heat recovery units

Waste heat recovery units in various designs and sizes make it possible to optimize the use of heat in a system. They can be integrated into a complete thermal fluid system either as tube coil units or as straight shell-and-tube heat exchangers. These units are installed in tandem with heaters burning solid fuels and are used to heat organic thermal fluids or other liquid or gaseous media. Systems already in operation include:

  • A 4 MW waste heat recovery unit with precombustion chamber and dual fuel diffusion burner for heating thermal oil
  •  A 12 MW waste heat recovery unit with upstream precombustion chamber for heating thermal oil

These systems are used for the incineration of organic wastes, solvents, process offgases containing hydrogen or salt-laden wastewaters. When required, they can also be used to generate usable heat.
